Arts & Trauma Healing (ATH) Overview
Arts and Trauma Healing (ATH) is a community-based, faith-informed approach to trauma recovery that integrates cutting-edge trauma theory with the transformative power of expressive arts. Unlike traditional models centered on individual therapy, ATH promotes healing through community connection—what we call community based healing—recognizing that restoration often happens best in safe, supportive groups.

At its core, ATH trains lay facilitators to lead biblically grounded healing groups in their own cultural contexts. These groups use lessons on trauma, grief, forgiveness, and suffering—paired with local arts—to engage the whole brain and the whole person: emotionally, physically, spiritually, and cognitively.

ATH offers a third pathway alongside counseling and therapy, equipping communities around the globe with accessible, scalable tools to address trauma and foster resilience. By empowering ordinary people to lead, ATH enables an ever-growing network of facilitators to bring art, faith, and neuroscience into the work of healing hearts and rebuilding lives.
